Our online parenting classes allow you to access research based parenting information on a variety of topics at your convenience. Work on assignments to build your understanding and skills, and participate in a parent educator facilitated live chat weekly with other parents via GoToMeeting. For class prices please see sliding fee scale on page 18 of brochure. 
Empathy - Key to Emotion Coaching (Birth-Kindergarten): Learn how to use this skill to be that all important emotion coach for your young children.  Access to the information wil be for the entire school year. Live chat (Fall / Winter Semester) Wednesday, November4 - December 9 2015  8:00 - 9:00 p.m.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                      
The No Drama Discipline Way ( Birth - Kindergarten): Learn how to use the concepts from the book, "No Drama Discipline," this class will explore how to guide your child's behavior in a way that is respectful lto both you and your young child. Access to the information will be for the entire school year.  Live chat (Fall/Winter Semester) Wednesday, Sept16 - October 14, 2015, 8:00 - 9:00 p.m.


New Option   The following classes have abundant research-based information related to the topic and are fromatted in chapters. Register for any of these classes and review the information at your own pace. Once you're registered, you will be given the email address of a parent educator who will be another resource for additional questions you may have.  Fee for these classes is $30 and access to the information will be for the entire school year.

Getting Ready for Kindergarten (Pre-Kindergarten): Learn how to get both your child and family ready for kindergarten in fall. Research based materials will describe fun activities to promote early literacy and math, methods to foster social-emotional development and ways to be involved in your child’s education. Discuss all the issues related to school readiness during the live chat. 

Tender Todlers  or Terrific Twos (12 - 24 months): Learn about your toddlers or two's developmental capacity, their temperamental makeup, their struggles for independence, how to encourage language and literacy  and methods to guide their behavior.
Infant Hot Topics (0-12 Months): Learn about infant development, attachment, sleeping and eating patterns, play activities for your baby and becoming a family. 
Toilet Training  Boot Camp (2- 4 years) Learn the signs of toilet training readiness and how to assist your young child in owning these skills. 
 Minnesota Parents Know
The Minnesota Department of Education sponsors the Minnesota Parents Know website which provides all of the information and services MPS ECFE Parent Connection has provided. Parents Know has access to the most current, trusted information and resources to help your children grow and develop from birth through high school. In addition, the website offers a Parent to Parent forum where you can ask questions and dialogue with other parents throughout the state. Go to Parentsknow.state.mn.us and see all this website has to offer.

Online parent education can be a quick and easy way to get the support and connection you need to be an effective parent.  You can connect at your own convenience which can be helpful when you are busy with young children!
